Posting essays

I <3 all of you, so I’m telling you this: Please, please, please try to refrain from posting your essays on here! There’s just too many opportunities to plagiarize. I know that no one here would do such a horrible thing, but google searches often reveal posts on these forums, and no one knows who’s lurking on the internet.

If you don’t believe me, go to the financial aid forum and read the stuff about the campbell’s scholarship contest…I don’t know if it’s true, but I found it disturbing and really hope that it was just a coincidence…in either case, my condolences go out to both of the posters…

Please find a parent, a friend, or a teacher to proofread your essays…if not, e-mail them…there’s just way too much risk on the internet.

Thanks for listening to my rant, yall  and I hope everyone fares well on Tuesday…Best of luck to all! And, no matter what happens, you guys are the best!!! If Harvard doesn’t accept any of us, that will be the university’s loss because all of us are going to go on to be great people! Best of luck!!! I know all of you are anxious and eager to know!!! :)

well said LAgal

awww, stefo:(...do you really mean that?
do you realize how many equally-qualified applicants harvard gets every year? admissions may not be a total crapshoot, but you can't deny that much of it is subjective once the first rounds of cuts are made...
i stand by my opinion that it will be the university's loss

no its not a crapshoot, ppl refer to it as a crapshoot simply because they have no idea what the adcom is looking for
more qualified ppl get in tho, you dont see kids with 1400s and a bunch of token clubs getting in in any hurry do you?
adcoms like to form a fullclass, and they might turn you down if youre an awesome science kid, but they have too many good science kids this year, so in that sense its somewhat random,
but on the whole more qualified ppl get in, and telling rejects that its a crapshoot or telling obvious reject posters that everyone has a chance is just shallow confidence boosting bs

<<but on the whole more qualified ppl get in, and telling rejects that its a crapshoot or telling obvious reject posters that everyone has a chance is just shallow confidence boosting bs

i disagree with part of what you said here...i think everyone does have a chance...for some, however, it's practically nonexistent, but they do have a chance
yes, i do agree that obvious rejects shouldn't be given false hope either, but judging by the level of intellect on these boards, i don't think i have yet found anyone who is an obvious reject
