I have a problem; I posted my essays (2 of them) on a site called ‘essayforum’. I thought it’d be a great way to get feedback, and I did get a lot of insightful help. However, now I read the post on here, and I’m a bit worried about colleges seeing my essay as plagiarized, even though I wrote it, and rejecting me.
I tried to press ‘delete’, but they charge you 7$ to delete one thread–now I’m sure the site is a scam, and I regret posting it at all.
What can I do to reverse this? Is it a wise idea to email admission officers about this?
I advise deleting the thread even if it costs $7. You should immediately email your college advisor about this instead of emailing the admission officers . Im sure she/he will know what to do.
And even though its dangerous to post your essay online, depending on how many people have viewed it, I doubt somebody actually stole your essay. Good luck I’m sure you’ll be fine.
I agree with the above post. You should delete your threads and contact your counselor/advisor about this issue. $7 is a small price to pay to avoid a charge of suspected plagiarism.
I knew a gal who did find out her essay was lifted in major part. She did pay to have it removed. I thought it was much more than $7. After, she substantially re-wrote.
Alright; thank you for the input! I wish I had found out before I had posted, but I guess you loose some and learn.
