posting online -college essay plagiarism?

If i were to post my college essay online for someone to proof read, say for example on college confidential, would colleges consider my essay plagiarized when i submit it, because it is already on the internet? How would colleges know that i was the one who posted the essay in the first place? Thanks! :)

^^ That’s why it’s a bad idea to do it. Ask for volunteers and PM the essay to them. The only essays you should post out in the open are practice SAT essays that you’ll never actually use.

What if i posted it and thend deleted the thread, would colleges still be able to connect it and consdier it plagiarized?

Please don’t post your essays on CC…you don’t know who is reading them, whether they will use parts of them, whether they are adults or 15 year olds giving you “advice”…surely you can find a “real” person- parent, teacher, counselor, coach to give you better feedback and certainly advice more relevant to who you truly are as a person. You then won’t have to worry about plagiarism charges on any level.

Nothing is ever permanently deleted from the internet. Except IRS emails.
