Postmark?

This might be a silly question, but I almost never use snail mail. And if I have, I never had to worry about this.

Say that the postmark deadline is December 1. Does sending it the morning of December 1 ensure that it is postmarked on that day? Or does postmark occur some time after you initially send it off? In other words, to make that deadline, when's the latest I can send the application?

Thanks.

Take it in to the Post Office yourself and watch them postmark it at the counter.

ask when they will postmark letters.

jmmom is right; if you are cutting it that close, make sure you see them stamp it

Thanks all.

Most drop boxes will tell you pick up time for that particular day, so you can calculate whether or not your mail will be sent that day. However, as suggested, it is best to bring it to the PO for something important like an application. You may even want to consider registered mail if you are cutting it super close.

i used courier. can track the parcel.
