So im in the New York / New Jersey area. More specifically central Jersey about a 25 minute drive to NYC. Im looking for some good schools in this region. I don't really know what I want to do in my future in terms of a job but having a business background isn't a bad idea. Im a senior next year and would love help for finding some colleges. I've got a couple colleges on my list such as Seton Hall University, NYU, Babson and Rutgers. I want to keep the schools in NJ or anything close. The farthest ill go is Boston area. Also California is a possible region as I have family there but im not familiar with any schools there. Any recommendations for good business schools? Thanks!

Your best bet and a good safety is Rutgers. There is no reason to look at OOS schools that are on the same level as Rutgers. Other than that :

Penn(Wharton)
Carnegie Mellon(Tepper)
SUNY Binghamton(low OOS tuition, excellent Business school)
CUNY Baruch

I don’t know your stats of if you need aid, but based on the schools on your list you might also consider: Fordham, Bentley, and SUNY Binghamton, USC.

Do you just want schools specifically in the northeast?

Also, NYU may be a great business school but can you afford it? NYU is one of the worst schools in terms of financial aid given to its students.

I definitely recommend visiting Boston. Northeastern, BU, and BC are all great schools in the area that you might like. Northeastern has a great co-op program that is great for gaining experience.

I would like schools in the northeast but like i said California is also an option due to having family. In terms of stats I’m above average in terms of schooling have decent extra curricular including sports, clubs, service etc… Financially my Dad is retired and my Mom currently in unemployment due to disabilities. So financial aid is absolutely necessary. I would like to get through college with minimal debt and loans and hope scholarships can help me get through.

It’s a good goal. If you post your stats we might be able to help you find some schools that will match. Baruch is a great recommendation. Here are some schools with good scholarships available: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/financial-aid-scholarships/1348012-automatic-full-tuition-full-ride-scholarships.html
