Hello,

I'm finishing my junior year as a foreign exchange student in Germany, and will return for my senior year this year. I have aimed high and always wanted to go to Georgetown, but I'm starting to worry about even getting in, and then the possibility of paying for it.

I've been deciding constantly between International Business (focusing on German-speaking countries and Economics) or International Relations (focus on Europe/German). If I decide on International Relations, obviously Gtown is the choice, but I still have to worry about admission and $$$.

I have read that the University of South Carolina-Columbia has the number 1 program for International Business in the nation. Can someone verify whether or not this applies only to the masters program or also for undergrads? This school is only a half hour from my house, and I could probably get a free ride. Gtown is my dream school, but USC-Columbia would be okay too. Both of my parents went there and I'm familiar with it.

I have to question the prestige though. Getting a job as a business major probably requires some type of prestige, right? I have to think about being recruited. Even if the program at USC-Columbia is the best in the nation, would Georgetown probably still give me a step up when it comes to recruiting? Even if USC has the nation's best program, it obviously doesn't carry the name of Wharton or Stern.

Also, if I focused in Economics, would it probably be more observing and researching trends and so on? Could someone who went into International Economics describe to me the potential job opportunities?

Sorry, I have been speaking German for 9 months so my English is definitely not up to par!
