Okay, so I'm kind of starting this thread on a whim, but here goes. So I've basically, after a long while of thinking, decided that my major is all wrong for me and I need to be doing something else. For the record, my major is Occupational Therapy, and I find that it's just not challenging enough and my fellow students aren't at all like me.

Now, I honestly have no idea where to start. I'm one of those types of people that tends to take an interest in anything, pretty much excepting the artistic, and I don't really have any specific academic weaknesses. My strength is probably my memory. I don't want to be in school until I'm 30 and I'm not great at dealing with people (one of the issues with my major).

Excepting business, which I'm just plain not into, is there anything that you would recommend that's relatively practical?

Dietetics / Nutrition / Health Services - General

Recreation studies

History with a minor in Latin

Underwater Basket weaving or Flute Performance.

I am not sure how far along in the program you’re and if you prefer certain subjects over others, but how about…
Accounting
Computer Science
Engineering
Public health for grad school if you enjoy health care, but not directly working with people
Info Systems
Pharmacy (not until you’re thirty, but the schooling is somewhat extensive still)

Education is out since you don’t want to work with people. Academia is out because you don’t want to be in school that much.
Also, don’t let anyone tell you that college is “not a vocation,” but a place to “expand the mind.” The two are not necessarily mutually exclusive and the students who say such things have probably seen little of the real world.
Good luck :)

Thanks for your responses guys.

I’ve actually been doing a lot of thinking and I’m seriously considering engineering at the moment. When I considered my strengths and interests - math, science, problem-solving, and hands on work - it seemed to make a lot of sense. I’m still definitely considering my options, though.
