Hi asinha,

You can find a lot of information regarding the International Admissions process and criteria for entry on our website at: [Stony Brook University - International Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.stonybrook.edu/ugadmissions/intl/)

All new transfers who pay their tuition/housing deposit and submit their new student preferences will be assigned campus housing on a space-available basis. Eligibility will depend upon the timely receipt of both the tuition/housing deposit and new student preferences, as well as the actual availability of space. New transfers we are unable to offer on-campus housing will receive assistance with locating housing through the services of our off-campus housing office.

Yes, we super score your SAT exams.

We can’t officially “chance” your criteria on this forum, but I would definitely encourage you to look at our transfer admissions criteria here to determine where you stack up: [Stony Brook University Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.stonybrook.edu/ugadmissions/applying/trans_procedures.shtml).

We do award six credits for International Baccalaureate higher-level exams with scores of 5 or better for year-long courses.

If you have any other questions regarding international admissions, please email our International Office intlugadmissions@stonybrook.edu

Best of luck!

Sorry I should have made it clear, I’m not a transfer student, Im a freshman applying for the Spring term. I read on the website that there is an intake for freshman students in spring. Is this the case for Engineering/Science majors?

I would wait till next fall to transfer

Again, Im not looking to transfer, Im applying as a freshman

most colleges typically accept freshamn in the fall and if you are not a typical 1st year entered students. you would apply as a transfer i believe. Also it may be very hectic going into a college in spring because of class registration and other there may not be dorm space. I believe you would register for classes after all the other students have so it may mess up ur shedule.

Hi Asinha,

We do accept freshman applicants in the Spring. The deadline is November 1, though we recommend applying by October 1 to allow sufficient time for I-20 processing. If you were to be accepted to the University and submit your deposit, Stony Brook University staff members would assist you in creating a schedule for the spring semester.

As listed on our website: “Successful applicants in majors within the College of Engineering & Applied Sciences will, in addition to our regular admission criteria, typically have earned outstanding grades in high school calculus and physics. Consideration is given to students who have performed well in advanced science and math courses, as well as those who have participated in science, math, and research competitions.”

Best of luck to you!

Hello,
I was wondering my chance of getting into SB for Spring 2014 if I have a GPA of 3.01 and 32 credits ( Ill be a sophomore in college)

Hey, wondermentcall!

Generally, we like to see that students have performed well in a strong academic program, having completed at least 24 credits with a GPA of 3.0 or higher by the time they submit their application.

Special consideration will be given to qualified graduates of university-parallel programs, i.e., A.A. and A.S. degree recipients from colleges within the State University of New York and City University of New York systems. Students are not, however, guaranteed admission into the program of their choice. Graduates of career-oriented programs (A.A.S. and A.O.S.) will be considered for admission on an individual basis and in competition with other transfer applicants.

For more information about our Transfer Admissions process, feel free to visit our website ([Stony Brook University Undergraduate Admissions](http://www.stonybrook.edu/ugadmissions/applying/trans_procedures.shtml))

Hope this information helps!
