I’m a senior in high school and will be applying for colleges this fall. I’m going to apply to the University of Washington (Tacoma), Western Washington University, and Washington State University. My main goal is to major in Economics, but unfortunately my first choice (UW Tacoma) only has Politics, Philosophy, and Economics. So my main question is this: would it be better to have a PPE degree from UW Tacoma or an Economics degree from Western or WSU?
There’s not really a great answer to that question. It really depends upon your personal interests and goals. I think you should choose where you’d rather go to school based on the whole experience, and don’t fixate on the major alone.
Why aren’t you applying to UW-seattle as well? That’s the best public in WA
I would, but I’m concerned about the cost: UW Seattle is expensive.
Oh are you going to be taking out loans? I suppose seattle is like 7k more per year in just tuition.
Yeah, at some point I’ll have to take out loans. My main choice is UW Tacoma becuase I would be able to commute there (and therefore wouldn’t have to pay $10,000+ a year for room and board).
