Okay, so is anyone else experiencing this? Im having a lot of trouble with this book. It's FILLED with trick questions. I do alot better on the normal pr books but this one is killing me. Is it alot harder than the real ACT? If not, im so screwed. its also WAYY harder than the other pr books. am i insane?

I’d recommend just using the Cracking the ACT book they put out. I bought both, but never even touched 1296. Plus, the Cracking the ACT book EXPLAINS all of those trick questions that you’re probably running across. Ultimately, the tests in Cracking the ACT are the closest you’re going to get (without buying the Real ACT, obviously) to an actual ACT test.

im gettings 34s on the cracking the act but 27s on the pr 1296. is that normal?

I scored 3-7 points less on the 1296 book than I did on the real deal. No worries.

Not VERY hard, but substantially harder.

aight ^ thats exactly how ifeel thank youu

Is the entire thing harder overall, or is it just certain sections?

Hmm interesting. I just got the book. Can anyone else confirm they get lower scores on the 1296 then the real one? I really hope thats the case.

^lol yeahh that better be the case or im so screwwedd

^i hope so too but somehow, i got a higher score on my english in the 1296 pr than the pr workbook for English…

I have also found that there a bunch of mistakes in the answers to 1296 pr. Anyone else?

Page361, question 31. The diameter is definitely 30, not 3. So if any of you got that wrong, don’t worry, it’s totally their fault.

yeah i found that some answers are wrong. don’t worry :)

Anyone have more experience with this book lately? I’m using the second edition. I took the ACT at the end of my sophomore year in June and got 30C,32M,31E,30R,25S. Now, on the Real ACT book I tested something like ~33C,34M,33E,33R,30S. With the PR1296, I just got 30C,28M,34E,31R,28S. I particularly thought the math section was difficult, especially considering I got 4 points higher last year, before I took Pre Calculus.

Yeah I think 1296 is pretty hard. I’m consistently getting 31s when I usually get 34s or so in the Cracking book or the Real ACT book.

i find science harder in pr than real act… Normal?

Firelion, It is harder for me too.

The highest I got in the PR 1296 was a 33. On the real thing I got a 35.

So yeah, it was harder than the real ACT (especially on the math sections).

What about science? I got 33s on their practice tests.

I really hope the tests are equal to or harder than the real ACT (preferably harder). I just started using this book and so far I got a 28 on math and a 28 on English. Both scores compare pretty well to how I did on the real exam but I am hoping to get a 30+ on the June exam.
