PRATT VS. OTIS (vs. Parsons)

I intend on going to an arts college in the fall for fashion design but I would still like to know more about the pros and cons of the schools that I have been accepted to. (otis, pratt, parsons, saic, central saint martins(waiting to hear from risd))

Which school would be the best choice for fashion design?

I personally am fighting my parents to go to Pratt because I have a feeling their program is stronger and being in NY seems like a big plus. I live in LA and got more money for Otis so that's my parent's reasoning for wanting me to go there.

I just feel like if i stay in LA i'll be stuck.

HELP!

I was in your situation. i got admitted to pratt, parsons and otis, for fashion design.
i chose otis because of money. i am also from los angeles, and it was convenient and cheaper. It
i am currently trying to transfer out of Otis, and that primarily has to do with my falling out of love with wanting to study fashion design.

the OTIS program works you to death, but i imagine that's the same at parsons. Both schools are like the harvard and yale of fashion, and frankly it's not worth spending more money on one school over the other, unless you have the money and freedom to do so.

pratt is more artsy/creative with their design program. if you want to be taken seriously as a designer then chose between otis and parsons.

but once again In my opinion, parsons beats otis for connections. the access to the fashion industry in new york city while you're in school is priceless. in la it'll be rare to find an internship worth mentioning, unless you really really look. but then again your needs may be different from mine.

central st martins is the ideal choice for any fashion designer wannabe. trumps parsons, and any other school.
