So reading through my major-to-be, I have come upon the fact that it does not allow me for many electives as I wish I could have.
I check pre-biz econ because I thought it sounded good, but...
Can I switch majors?
How about departments?
How is this major compared to others in difficulty?
How does this major compare to other schools (UCB USC)

I love business and economics, but lets say our school does not have the brightest economics teacher. Should I start piling books for my summer?

Also, any suggestions for books that I should read for my major?

Thanks!

I’m not pre-biz econ, so I can’t really help out on the major-specific questions, but…

I think you should be able to switch within the College of Letters and Science pretty easily. As to switching into Engineering, Nursing, or another school, that’ll be more difficult and usually require an application. But within the school, you should be okay for MOST majors (you’ll have to check with the specific dept. to get specifics).

Yes, you can switch majors and departments.

The major compares favorably to other similar schools.

Don’t worry so much. The major is good, the professors are good, and the education is good. If you decide it’s not for you, it’s easy to change anyway.
