I'm a rising high school senior that will be taking AP Calculus BC next year. Obviously, I needed to take Algebra, Geometry, Trig/Algebra 2 to get to this point as well as a Precalc class, but I know for sure that some of that material that I had learned is no longer with me. I was wondering what is the best source to review some of this stuff, if not extensively, just a review to let me remember it. I bought the book Precalculus Mathematics in a Nutshell: Geometry, Algebra, Trigonometry just to read and review. Do you feel that this will be sufficient as far as just a reminder of everything I learned prior to calculus?

Is it even necessary to review these topics before calculus? How much material that is learned in precalculus math is actually necessary to be successful in calculus? Any suggestions as far as specific topics that would be helpful?

Full review is not needed. However, consider take SAT 2 Math II…

SAT 2 Math Level II is the best source to review pre-calc, algebra, gemoetry, trig. There are some topics that may not covered. I don’t remember, probably vectors, matrix??? I really don’t remember.

Look at each caterogroy : NY Regents : XXXXXXX
I can tell you from my personal experience, this is the best among others…

Regent is a state standardize exam.

Don;t worry. It’s okay to not remember some of the stuff. Just study hard in school, and don’t fall behind.

The most 3 important things you should need for BC:
log (basically log operation, bases…), trig (laws of trigs, double and half angles, and sin, cos, tan, sec, csc, and cot), and identities…
