Pre-College Summer programs Musical Theatre- Has anybody gotten decisions from Penn State?

My daughter applied to Penn State pre-college musical theatre summer programs and decisions are due this week… Has anybody heard back from them? How difficult is it to get in? She is a freshman. (May apply somewhere else if needed)

Still waiting here too.

Also waiting.

Waiting also.

Thank you for replying- I will post here when I hear to let you all know. Are your children applying/doing other MT camps this summer? Thinking I may have to look at other options as she is a freshman girl so maybe unlikely she would get in?

My son received an email at around 1:00 this afternoon.

And yes, he applied to 2 other programs - Artsbridge and Baldwin Wallace.

Does anyone know how many students they typically accept to summer program?

No idea how many students they take. A friend of my daughter’s, a boy, heard at 1pm that he was waitlisted… mindatwork, I hope your son got good news?!

I don’t have any personal knowledge about the program but I googled and there was a thread here last year which said 25 students were accepted.

And yes, my son was accepted, thanks! Good luck to your kiddos!

Congrats to your son! Do you mind me asking what grade he is in?

He is a junior.

My daughter found out about 1 pm today that she was accepted. She is currently a sophomore

We got an acceptance as well - very excited. Current Junior.

Where is everyone from who got accepted?

Congrats to all! Haven’t heard, assuming it’s a no but will try again next year… this will be good for my D to inspire her to work harder next year!

We are from New York. My daughter did the Summer Scholars program at PACE in Manhattan last year which was so convenient. This will be a 5-hour schlep to get to. Already dreading that but very happy for her.

We are from Virginia -

We are from suburban Pittsburgh.

Hi. I just got an email today at 1:00 pm (NY) with an acceptance. I had emailed the office earlier in the day and they replied that acceptances were going out today and tomorrow (2/23)

Oh and my son is a rising senior (junior now)
