before eighth grade, I used to be a professional ballroom dancer. I was nationally ranked and even got 6th place at nationals. But after breaking my leg during that summer, I had to stop dancing. Any way to highlight this on apps? Is it worth it to include?
Unless you were a famous child actor, most colleges care about what you have done recently.
I would not highlight accomplishments from middle school or earlier (unless it was something like an Olympic gold medal, National Spelling Bee Champion or along those lines).
Hopefully you have moved forward and found other interesting/valuable things to do with your life that you can highlight in college applications.
In passing in an essay mentioning how you rebounded to achieve success in other endeavors. Otherwise, no.
I agree with what everyone wrote: do not include stuff you did before high school! You may come off as someone living in the past, which definitely isn’t a good image to show the admissions officers.
