I recently got into USC and want to pursue a career in medicine. How is the Biology/Science programs at USC and how is the pre-med advising at the school?

Could anyone shed some light on how well the school prepares you for med school and how the classes are etc.

Here is the pre-health website: [Pre-Health > USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences](http://college.usc.edu/pre-health/)

Here is the biological sciences blog: [USC Biological Sciences Blog](http://uscbisc.blogspot.com/)
They update pretty much every day and tell you some important stuff.

Pretty much everyone in the Biology and Chemistry classes are pre-health + some engineers so you’re gonna be constantly competing throughout BISC 120, 220, 320, 330 and CHEM 105a/b, 322a/b. BISC 120/220 and CHEM 322ab tend to be the weed out classes. PHYS 135a/b is physics for Life Sciences so everyone is pretty much pre-health but some opt to take PHYS 151/152 which is mostly engineers. As for math, MATH 125 is generally considered easy while 126 is a weed out class.

Its fairly easy to get a B/B+ in most classes (you generally have to be average or slightly above average) but you’re gonna have to work a bit to get that A/A- unless you’re just naturally smart and know everything. Some professors are soso but some are very good in what they do and really care about their students.
