<p>Also, while Yale Medical Exams are self assesment only, they are not truly optional in the end. Passing a course is dependent on the course director saying you are competent enough to pass. That’s going to require them to evaluate some form of examination of your knowledge. I also doubt that many Yalies are going to be just cruising through without working their butts off. The people they recruit at Yale are people they know are going to work hard regardless of a grading system. This is different than undergrad, even at Brown, where there are people who aren’t fit to go to medical school.</p>
