Premed at Stanford or Princeton....

Which one is best for a molecular biology premed?

Things to look for: research opportunities, advising, shadowing opportunities, volunteer opportunities...

Which one has more grade inflation in the science (Molecular BIology)?

Thanks

PS: I'm posting for a friend.

^I don’t know much about Princeton, but I HAVE heard that they have major grade deflation (and most students seem to be kind of irritated about it). Perhaps a more knowledgeable person could back me up, but that’s just what I’ve heard and read.

Anyone else?

Yeah, I’ve read a few things about Princeton’s grade deflation. Students in the articles were all whining about it because they have to compete (for jobs, grad school, whatever) with Harvard and other ivy students with great GPAs.

I don’t know if this affects/means anything, but Princeton doesn’t have a med school. You can still do pre-med at either school, but the extracurricular opportunities may be further away than just your campus at Princeton.

Academically, Stanford is tops in Microbiology, Princeton 2d tier (which is still excellent): among grad schools, Stanford, Harvard, UCSF, Hopkins and Berkeley have the most advanced research, I’m told by an expert.
