Pre-Med at Oxford College?

Hi everyone, I have recently been accepted to the Oxford College at Emory University and plan to go down the pre-med track. I have a couple questions:

  • What is pre-med like at Oxford, a ‘liberal arts college’?
  • Because Oxford does not have a official pre-med program like Emory does, what are the courses needed to fulfill pre-med requirements?
  • How difficult is pre-med at Oxford?
  • Are Oxford and Emory students at about the same academic level once they join together for their junior and senior year?
  • Does going through pre-med at Oxford lessen your credibility when applying for medical school, when compared to pre-med students at Emory?

Thank you!

@emoryeagle19: Emory does not have an official pre-med program either. The only difference is that main has pre-health advising.

1)Challenging, classes that are more difficult on main could be gen. chem and ochem
2)Of course, many Oxford continuees are actually better and earn much higher grades on main
3)Of course not…Oxford is actually really well known for its efforts in science education and you are also getting a bachelors with Emory on your diploma.

@bernie12‌ thanks!
