Pre-Med at Rutgers; stressing out

Helloo

I haven’t committed yet, but it looks like I’m going to be either RU’22 or Stevens’22, most likely RU. I’m planning on majoring in Computer Science and staying on the pre-med track. So i was wondering, can anyone give me any helpful tips about pre-med (or comp sci) at Rutgers? I’m not really happy that I have to go there so it’d be nice if these tips were pros to look forward to.

thank you!

Can’t speak for Rutgers, but Stevens has several programs that would fall under “pre-med”; the chemical biology, molecular biology, and chemistry programs for example (though Stevens unlike many traditional premed programs requires one to take the foundation hard science courses and mathematics such as calculus and physics), biomedical engineering, and the accelerated chemical biology program which has an articulation agreement with the Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (the former UMDNJ) in which a student can transfer to NJMS after three years at Stevens for a total of 7 years in school as opposed to the eight years that a standard program would require between the undergrad and medical school. That is a great option you should check it out. Also consider options if med school doesn’t work out, the biomedical engineering program for example, like all of Stevens’ engineering programs, has excellent placement and return on investment of tuition if one decides to pursue an engineering career instead.

Best to you in your academic endeavors!
