study medicine at UC Berkeley.

This is impossible, as UC Berkeley does not have a medical school.

A BS is a Bachelor of Science degree. A BA is a Bachelor of Arts degree. A science department at a university may offer one or the other, or even both. If a science department offers both a BS and a BA, the BS generally requires a few more credits.

One is not better than the other. When you apply to medical schools as a science major, it doesn't matter if you have a BA or a BS. Adcoms are aware that not every science department within a school will give students a choice between the two. If your school does offer you a choice, chances are the adcom will have no idea. Even if they did know, they are not going to be impressed by a little more science coursework.

What do u mean "they" wont be impressed by ONLY my academic work?
