Frankly it doesn't matter where you go for undergrad for med school. Both davis and usc have med schools so finding an internship shouldn't be too difficult. I know medical internships fill up here very fast. I have no idea *** pomona is tho.

If you're talking about Cal Poly Pomona, I would run away from there as fast as possible. I used to live in Pomona. It is a commuter school serving the Inland Empire, and socially it is very dead. Its neighboring city Walnut is an upper class but sleepy town. Diamond Bar is ok, and it is where I usually went to get food at. Another drawback is that people will always call the other Cal Poly in SLO the "real Cal Poly", so you must be able to deal with that.

Are you sure he doesn't mean Pomona College?

mavman; I went to their Health Professions info seminar on one of their Welcome days for admitted students (last Friday, the 13th) and I can tell you, from what I've seen and heard from their premed students, that they have a good, strong system.

Those who wish to pursue premed, pre-pharm, and/or etc will be able to get access to a health professions BUILDING where there are advisers and peer advisers who will help you pick your classes, prepare for the MCAT, file and pile your letters of rec for you AND write you a cover letter when you begin to apply to med schools, and help on writing and revising your essays from staff who've been helping students do it for decades.

I can't say much about Pomona, or USC, but as a prospective premed myself, I'd say that Davis is a good, solid choice. It seems that if you're a premed at Davis, then you're well supported. Besides, I don't really think you could go wrong with going to Pomona, USC, or Davis...but good luck! :D
