This thread was started 5 1/2 years ago. The OP was accepted to USC, chose to attend, LOVED USC and graduated in 2009.

Its 2013 and this thread has been responded to  thanks guys!

The OP chose to do engineering. A good choice for USC. However, for prospective pre-meds (who knows if you will even stick with it), I would suggest UCLA or UC Berkeley. I am pre-dental because USC’s dental school is the easiest to get into in the country and accepts a lot of USC undergrads. However, I still take the same classes as pre-meds or pre-pharms here at USC. The class sizes are no different from public universities. You will be in a class filled with over 250+ people each time in your basic sciences. The sciences will be all the same everywhere. The average will be a C+/B- and the top 20% will get an A/A-. So wherever you go, just make sure you place in the top 20% of your class. Shouldn’t be too hard out of 250+ students since most of these pre-meds give up their pre-health goals. Upper division at USC gets a little better. All the unqualified individuals are weeded out, and you are surrounded by decent people.

Based on official statistics and what my friends have told me, UCLA would be the best option for pre-med. UCLA is a MD producing powerhouse for decades as the top of the nation, so the networking for the health sciences are far superior than USC. UCLA’s EMS program has a 100% acceptance rate to medical school, and my friend told me that USC begged UCLA to teach an EMT class in their campus last year. Their hospital and medical research is world-renowned, and I am jealous that my friends can literally walk to their research or labs that consist of any specialty or department out there like neurosurgery, anesthesiology, stroke team, etc.

I also hear good things about UCI as well. BUT if you really love the campus and atmosphere at USC, then by all means attend USC. If you want to be a doctor, you will be one no matter where you attend ( I had a few friends in med school now who came from calstate fullerton and sdsu). I am just giving an objective view based on the pros and opportunities.

mane94, for what reason have you resurrected an 8 year-old thread? Based on your post, for NO reason at all…

seriously mane94 !!! why would just revive a thread for no reason
