Which major would I choose if I wanted to become a sports medicine doctor?

Since the first step is to get into medical school, and med schools have no preferences w/r/t majors—major in whatever you like.

Just be sure that you complete all the require pre-med coursework. (Gen chem, ochem, biochem, bio, physics, calc, stats, english, psychology and sociology)

There is literally no undergrad major which will have the slightest effect on your ability to match into sports medicine.

Sports medicine is a fellowship level specialty (that is, you train for it AFTER med school and residency have been completed). You can enter a sports medicine fellowship from orthopedic surgery, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine or PM&R (physical medicine & rehabilitation).

~~~
For the record, there is no such thing as a “pre-med major” (except at Penn State). Pre-med is an intention, not a major.
