Hi! I'm currently at SUNY Cortland. I decided to enroll at Cortland randomly and it's been great so far. The classes are engaging and dense. It's just that I've always wanted to be a doctor and pre-medical studies is not very popular here (from what I've seen.) If I were to transfer I think I'd stick to the SUNY system because the schools are great and I won't be in debt from college AND medical school. I'm in the honors program, and intend on a high GPA. I live in Westchester, NY.

I would consider Binghamton over Cortland. Or Stony Brook even. There are pros and cons of each. Though I tend to be very biased, I'm a freshman at Binghamton.

Here is info on SUNY New Paltz's pre-med program.
State University of New York at New Paltz: Biology Department - Programs

I'm applying to Stony Brook or Buffalo or Albany, Oswego, and Oneonta for pre-med. Seems to make sense to go to a state school for undergrad to keep cost down..

Look at Geneseo too. I remember them saying (when visiting with one of my kids) that their acceptance rate to med. school was higher than Cornell's. New science building, too.

good idea.
