I am currently enrolled in a California cc and plan on applying to UCs hopefully by the Fall 2015. I was looking through different posts and I noticed there are pre reqs for UCs that have to be taken. Is this the same as the IGETC? Or would it be classes that have to do with my major (Psychology)?

Pre-reqs have to do with your major and are usually separate from IGETC but can sometimes overlap depending on the UC-College.
Pre reqs are the lower division requirements for your major.
On the link bomerr provided, click explore majors, type in psychology, choose the school and put in your CC. It will show you what CC classes you need to fulfill the lower division requirements.
I’d also suggest you go see a counselor. Pre reqs can be a big deal especially for the upper UCs. I’m really surprised you don’t know what they are.
