So I had a question, I want to take a psychology upper div class in the Winter for my Communications Major but I haven’t taken psych 41 just psych 1. I know I can register for it after pass 2 but I don’t want to get an e-mail saying I “have to drop it because of missing the psych 41 prereq.”

I got an e-mail last year for taking a communications class without having taking the pre-req so the communication advisor dropped me.

So what I am asking is, does anyone know how lenient the psych advisors are with the pre-reqs?

I took PSC 101 during the summer, and I never took PSC 41 (one of the prerequisites), just PSC 1 (well, the equivalent of PSC 1 at community college). Which upper div Psychology class are you planning on taking?

I also took psych 1 the equivalent of psych 1 at a community college before i transferred. I want to take PSC 154 001 - Psychology of Emotion because it fits my schedule and maybe PSC 152 001 - Social Cognition (if POL 165 Mass Media Politics is filled up by then).

I think you’ll be fine. One of my former roommates took a Psych class two summers ago where one of the prerequisites was PSC 101, a class she hadn’t taken yet, and they never said anything about it (she did well in the class, too).

No, the final approval goes to the advisor that’s why I asked if the advisors were more lenient in the psych dept.
ANyways, the psych classes got filled before I could take them…

Fortunately Communications advisor said we can register to any communication class for this quarter only without having taken any pre reqs.
