Has anyone been notified of the LIU-Post BFA November MT audition?
@MaineMamaRed thank you. I was hoping it wouldn’t be one of those wait until the bitter end to know something
@mamaboyz I also called CCM - been waiting on my prescreen since August - not sure where I will even be able to put them if I were able to get an audition!
Just a thought for those who are not “getting their hopes up “ by avoiding on campus auditions”. If your final choice ends up with schools you have never visited… how will you know they are a good fit? We ended up with a late March early April rush to fly out to schools to figure out “fit “ last year
Will you also find out about which studio you are in early?
@mauidad ED students find out their assigned studio with all accepted students. Last year, it was at the end of May.
Here is where my S is so far in this CRAZY process:
Prescreen Passes:
Carnegie Mellon University - Acting & MT
Florida State University
Pace University
Otterbein University
Coastal Carolina University
Boston Conservatory
Prescreen Rejections:
Texas State
Still Waiting:
CCM
Artistic Rejections After Audition
Baldwin Wallace University
Artistic Acceptances After Auditions:
Rider University
Wright State University
Viterbo University
University of the Arts
Sam Houston University
Auditions Done Awaiting Results:
Ball State
Montclair State
Point Park University
Shenandoah University
University of Arizona
University of Central Oklahoma
We are all looking forward to getting the last of the auditions completed in Chicago so we can move on to the next phase of this crazy process. I though guiding our oldest S through college football recruiting was nuts 2 years ago but this so much more competitive and involved.
My kid passed CCM - Acting, but we’re still waiting on CCM - MT. I hope they don’t make us wait until January.
@TheatreDad69 congrats on the success on pre screens and auditions,! please join us in the venting thread and share all the future results…
So, here is a question - and I know I have posted it before - I also haven’t heard from my CCM prescreen… I have emailed a few times, and they said they have everything. So, what does one do? Just wait and wait ? And if more time passes do I just assume that is a NO and I should stop bugging them? It feels annoying to keep emailing. All of my stuff was in before Labor Day so I feel like I have been waiting forever!
@DramaLove2020 we are in the same boat and it’s so frustrating! At this point, we’re just moving on - if they get back to us and we can fit them in our schedule, we will. After several phone calls and emails - like you - without any definitive answers, we figured it was just best to say “next.” Our pre-screens went in early September, so our situation isn’t that it hasn’t been reviewed yet, but whether or not they move by D off their “maybe” pile. Happy Holidays!
I think we’ll have to move on as well. It seems wrong to take ppls money and time and not respond at all.
@PNWdrama and @mamaboyz that is kind of what I am doing - guess just moving on and will wait and see if I ever hear - just for kickS!
Finally heard from CCM on my S MT PreScreen. Passed. This completes his Unifieds puzzle schedule. BAL to all still waiting to hear.
Unified Schedule:
University of Utah
CCM
Carnegie Mellon (MT & Acting)
BoCo
Otterbein
Pace
Coastal Carolina
@TheatreDad69 when did you submit and how did you hear ?
@DramaLove2020 My S did a Live PreScreen at Moonifieds in late November and he was notified via email.
Congrats ! Hope I hear today. Submitted in August
My daughter was notified today via email that her CCM audition had been scheduled, and listed the time/day for dance and audition. I assume this means that she passed CCM prescreen. Submitted prescreen on 11/26. Today’s email came from CCM, not getacceptd, and there is no notification in getacceptd.
@2020JC. Congratulations - I keep checking my email, hoping I hear something! I really just want closure!
Just as some background to the CCM wait, there have been some kinks to work out for their first year of prescreen. I have no affiliation but asked a friend who is a senior there. They received well over 2000 prescreens, all reviewed by a faculty member, and probably will audition about 400-500 for 20 final slots. They finished reviewing them all before Christmas and if you haven’t heard yet, you are probably in the “final review” pile…good luck!
