@anastasiasmom
Thank you!
For anyone still waiting on CCM MT - I just received a phone call from admissions. They indicated that ALL remaining decisions are being released tonight. FINALLY!
I got a call from CCM today too, but they told me response would go out today or tomorrow! Lol. It was a student returning my call. I told him one of the dates my D chose was this weekend. He advised me to “not buy the plane ticket yet”. Umm correct. Don’t think I will be buying a ticket just yet.
My son has gotten positive response from CMU, Penn State, Syracuse, Ithaca, Emerson, and Michigan, BU for acting, rejection from PACE, and still no word from Elon! Which is kind of scary, because I think you have to go to N. Carolina to audition. Yikes.
@Caterwaul Elon pre-screen decisions will be released 1/22.
D just got a callback to Elon for BFA MT program! Audition 3/7. She is super excited. That means Indiana, TT, Florida State, UCF, and Elon 5 weekends in a row. Closest one to us is TT. Everything else is 3 + hour flight. Ugh. What were we thinking!?
@csuram1994 - you were thinking you wanted frequent flier points? CONGRATULATIONS to your D! How exciting.
Elon decisions released today.
I tell my kiddo I already feel like I’ve paid a years worth of college tuition in flights, auditions, coaches, dance, training, prep and everything else… so he’d better start making some money at this theatre thing before 4th year.
Best of luck to your D and congrats on the Elon callback!
@csuram1994 TT = Texas Tech? When is your D at Florida State and TT? I have a student attending both of those! Unfortunately, he just found out his Florida State is one day after Chicago Unifieds ends, so we are having to change the flight to Chicago > Tallahassee then back to home.
My daughter got an invite to audition today as well, but her email says she can’t choose a date until Jan.22 when the link opens? How did you get the date?
I got the same thing locked until the 22nd
@csuram1994 were you actually able to schedule the Elon audition for 3/7 or are you just planning for that date? The email Elon sent to us, and others that commented, said that we couldn’t schedule until 1/22.
Final Prescreen in today, a Yes from Elon can’t schedule until the 22 though. Nice to have that all done and only one last trip to schedule! BAL everyone!
Still haven’t heard prescreen results from CCM. Anyone else? We have called and emailed several times. We were told we would hear by end of this week, so we expected to hear yesterday. Now with a holiday on Monday, I assume we won’t hear until Tuesday.
Update. D got the no from CCM finally today. Glad to have an answer. Now on to unifieds. BAL everyone!
Yes. Texas Tech is weekend of the 14th and FSU is weekend after. We will be at Chicago unified too. The weekend you are at FSU, we are at Indiana.
@SingerDancerMom When she submitted prescreen, she picked an audition date at that time. Glad she got got an audition, but without $$$ from the school, we aren’t going there. Great program, but so many others are similar that are less expensive. I hope she gets an offer from a different school.
This is the “prescreen results” thread so now that my daughter’s results are all in, I’m going to post them, but I do this reluctantly. I say that because as we read about each other’s experiences It often increases our own anxiety. I love getting tips that help in this process but I HATE that part where reading the posts on this site increases stress and I do NOT want to do that to anyone!! We are all stressed out enough! This process is INSANE and unique for every family, for every student.
I am posting this not for 2024 students, but because maybe it will be helpful for future parents/students that are reading this to prepare for next year or later.
My D submitted 14 prescreens to:
FSU, Michigan, Pace, Point Park, Elon, Texas State, CCM, Millikin, Penn State, Indiana, ECU, Rider, Roosevelt CCPA, &Coastal Carolina
She was highly fortunate to pass all of them.
Soooooo many kids are talented and lots of them have extensive resumes and training, I honestly think what set her apart, and was one of the biggest reasons she was so successful in passing the prescreens, was the “college prescreen express” she did in September with The Broadway Artists Alliance in NY. The kids still have to prepare everything in advance, but they help with the finishing touches and things you may not be aware of. She left NY with her pre-screen and audition outfit selected, her final songs and monologues chosen and cleaned up, feedback and advice from college faculty, all of her prescreen videos shot & uploaded, information on every single school that offers degrees in Musical Theatre including their application/admit numbers, an audition strategy, and even backtracks with her song cuts played by a professional accompanist uploaded on her phone ready for Unifieds. It was one weekend, and enormously helpful.
any certain rejections for steinhardt?
