bwaybabie - congrats to your D - what’s your audition date? My D will be there Feb 1!

Got a yes from IU too!

Kate- we have march 1. Congrats to you too.

S got a yes from IU, too! We’re there Feb. 15.

Anyone still waiting on IU?

So - weeks ago - we got an email to schedule the UArts audition (which we did - at Chicago Unifieds). Today, D got an email telling her she passed the prescreen. Isn’t that a little out of order? I can’t even imagine if I’d scheduled the audition and then found out she DIDN’T pass the prescreen. I know it was an optional prescreen… but we did all prescreens that were available - figuring we would rather know if she wasn’t a fit before doing an in-person audition. Seems like they have some kinks to work out in their system!

Finally submitted our prescreens last nite(only 2), Pace said yes for acting & MT & then just got a no from Otterbein. Haven’t told my D about that one yet. She was thrilled w/the yes from Pace as it is her top choice! This is such an emotional journey!

Finally submitted Coastal’s prescreen and will do Pace’s sometime in the upcoming week. UGH!

My S received his invite to audition (from his prescreen) from University of Michigan yesterday… he is so excited.

Congrats to all of you who have received positive responses to your prescreens. I’m curious to know if there’s a deadline for prescreens, since it seems that some of you are still submitting them.

Merry Christmas everybody! The bellies are full, the kitchen is clean, the coffee is fresh, and the Mel Brooks marathon is on the Sundance Channel. Seems like a good time to check the CC boards.

Over the weekend D received a NO from Shenandoah, which was quickly forgotten when she received a YES from Florida State.

So far the NO’s outweigh the YES’s by about 3 to 1, but there are plenty of non-prescreen schools where she has auditions scheduled. Between mid-Jan and late March we have 14 auditions scheduled, about half of which are at Chicago Unifieds. On that list of 14 are about 5-6 schools that we are really excited about. Like I’ve said all along, we really believe that she’ll receive a couple of solid offers, and we are perfectly satisfied with her safety school (already been accepted), we just don’t want to take a chance and audition at too few schools. Some of her teachers are already getting testy about the time that she’s missed so far. Wait 'til audition season heats up!

Congrats to all who have received acceptances, and best wishes for the year to come. Break a leg!

Congrats to your daughter, cheeseheadmike!!!

Alwaysamom- depends on the school itself each one has different deadlines

Just got the email that D passed prescreen and invited to audition for NYU Steinhardt for music theatre. Cannot suppress my excitement. NYC here we come!

Congratulations Princessjpmom and D!

THanks, entertainersmom. Wow. THis is really happening. 11 auditions lined up for Jan, Feb. and March. D graduated High School early in Dec. so we can relax and enjoy the ride! But right now I think my mind is blown.

D just heard that she passed her first pre-screen for Coastal Carolina! I feel like Sally Field’s Oscar speech “They like her, they really like her!”

princessjpmom and sydsim - Congrats to your daughters!!! Good luck to them on their auditions. And princessjpmom - what a relief to be graduated while you go through this time - it will be so much more fun for her (and you.) Best!

Yay Sydism! I felt relieved when my son passed his pre-screens, and that I wasn’t totally out of touch with reality to help him on this journey!

Entertainersmom, I totally feel what you’re saying. That validated everything that we’ve been thinking and gives me peace going into this audition season. She isn’t trying in vain!
