Hi y’all! Just popping in to say hello. My daughter is a freshman Design and Technology major at Otterbein. I can’t begin to write enough great things about the school and the program! Congrats to all who’ve made it past the pre-screen. She is supposed to be helping with on campus audition dates, so perhaps you’ll get to meet her.

Elon audition went really well. Very friendly and welcoming environment. Long day though- we were there from 8:30-4:30. They said it was a small group- only 18 kids. The kids observed an acting class in the morning. Then they had a two hr break for lunch, then the afternoon was all auditions. Good day!

I just don’t understand why some of these schools tell you “you’ll hear by ___ date” – then you don’t. Last year a school was almost a month later giving my daughter an answer than they said, and by the time my daughter finally heard, I hated them. Don’t they realize what stress these kids are under and what torture it is to wait? I’d rather they just say nothing.

Congrats Frazzled! How long after submitting Otterbein pre-screen did you hear it was a yes to audition? I need something to obsess over today. Thanks :)

We sent in 2 pre-screens over the weekend, a 3rd one to Marymount last night. Marymount requires a pre-screen in order to audition at the regional location in San Francisco. D heard from Marymount this morning that she passed the pre-screen! They were very quick. This will be her first audition in January prior to Chicago Unifieds.

I found myself second guessing everything after we sent in the pre-screens. Did any of you do that? This is nerve racking. I’m usually a very stress free kind of person. I think I need a nice glass of wine but it’s only 8:30 in the morning here on the west coast! Sigh…

Congrats on the Marymount pass LoveMyMTGirl! I definitely second guessed, was that quality good enough, did he for sure follow the rules, did they get it, I better check if they got it, on and on LOL etc…but so far so good for S. Two more to go in, which better be sent tonight. It is 5:00 PM somewhere right! And wine is really just fruit so its good for breakfast LOL!

But it’s evening in Paris…

LOL Bisouu and MTMajorCook…
HannahsMom…we heard from Otterbein within 48 hours! It was amazing, we must have sent things in at just the right time. The next day, we sent the academic app in and also scheduled the unified audition. They make things unbelievably easy.
Just a not for anyone with FSU or UCF prescreens…we heard they were working on those this week and were trying to get notifications out soon.

LoveMyMTGirl. Congrats!! I definitely second guessed. It just felt so final to hit submit on that first prescreen. (Which was Otterbein!) but once one was sent, the others were much easier. And then the favorable responses she’s had so far helped as well. Still waiting to hear back on a few.

frazzled35 - thanks for the information on FSU and UCF!

My son sent out 5 pre-screens-- Got a Yes from Coastal Carolina, and will be there next weekend to audition, and 2 Nos from Pace and Texas State. Both No’s came quickly-- less than 48 hours after submitting (ouch!). Still waiting for UCF and Penn State…hoping for a little bit better news with those.

SU88BFA fingers crossed on UCF and Penn State. PSU came within a week you should hear something soon!

^^ Thank you, MTMajor Cook. Those last 2 pre-screens went out this past weekend, so it’s only been 4 days.

SU88BFA…Our UCF result just popped up on acceptd. Hopefully that means you will hear something soon! It looks like D will be auditioning there on 2/1 then flying right out the next morning for Chicago. It will be a busy week.

My son received a yes from UCF today and just submitted yesterday so everyone should be hearing soon if you are waiting. Earl Weaver is so nice! We are waiting on 3 others.

FSU just now came through…looks like folks are busy! That one is for January 25…love to hear from others on same audition days/maybe we can sit together and talk about ANYTHING but MT (FYI if there are Diana Gabaldon fans out there, I would love to discuss Outlander!)

Yes from UCF also!! If son gets admitted academically, then he’ll be there for the 2/22 on-campus audition.

Frazzled-- I’m a HUGE Outlander series fan! I read the series twice. LOL

Congrats to the offspring of redscorpion, frazzled and SU88BFA!!! WOOHOOOOOO!!!

Congrats on latest results everyone!

SU88BFA…Make sure you take advantage of those comp tickets for CCU’s production of A Chorus Line at Atlantic Stage. I have not seen it yet, but I hear it is just fabulous. And Break a Leg to your son. He will have an awesome day!
