Pre-Screens- Has anyone heard?

Congrats to your daughter, Cellomom!!

Just so you know, Ithaca is making decisions on prescreens…people have found out. Good luck to all!

Michigan - Did everyone record the optional video? My S will, just wondered if everyone else did.

My D did the optional video…Waiting Waiting for Michigan.

Does Michigan email you that they’ve received your pre-screen videos? Sent ours in several weeks ago, but no acknowledgement?

WooHoo! Just got the Otterbein email! Bad news is more money out the window for another college app. Now if we could just hear back from Ithaca…and FSU…and UCF and so on.

At least they let you wait until you passed the prescreen BEFORE you had to shell out application money! Congrats on the Otterbein yes!

Excited to see all these upcoming Otterbein auditions! :)

Woohoo, frazzled!! Congrats!

My D recieved an immediate email response from Decision Desk and then a email acknowledgment about 2 weeks later directly
from Michigan’ s SMTD department.

I did notice today that my D’s decision desk has been updated to include scanned files that we snailed mailed to the SMTD OFFICE.

Hi Musicmanct, how did not Elon audition go?
Any details? My D goes on the 15th. She has CMU next Sunday the 10th?

My D did not do the optional video- Did not have the luxury of time for that one- was at the very last minute!
And we too have not heard from Ithaca or Michigan.

Congrats Frazzled!!

Thanks MTMajorCook…We will do this audition at Unifieds…She is thrilled!

Thanks for the info, Monkey13! Congrats, Frazzled!

D did the optional video for U of M. Have not heard from U of M or Ithaca on prescreens at this point.

If you don’t hear from some of these programs and everyone else has heard, CALL! Last year my son never heard anything from Michigan. He had accepted another school early so we just let it go thinking he did not pass the prescreen. Months later he got an email confirming and reminding him of his upcoming (on campus) audition which was in 3 days. We laughed but would have cried if we had been waiting and not known!

Agree wholeheartedly with theatremomma! If it is past the time when the schools says they will let you know, call or email! Last year there were some…technical difficulties…with UMich’s pre-screen. The kids who sent theirs in by the priority deadline were randomly split into 5 groups, and assigned to different reviewers. All the kids were told they would hear by November 15th. We never heard anything, and my devastated daughter assumed she had not passed. All of her friends had heard and had passed, and it was uncomfortable. Several days after the 11/15 response date, we rec’d an email from UMich, apologizing and saying one of the reviewers had not reviewed his/her prescreen videos, and we were in that group. (A little awkward, b/c everyone in that group was copied, and email addresses were not in the bcc list, but in the “to” list, so you could see EVERYONE who was in the same boat as you). Hope renewed. The email promised to get us an answer by Thanksgiving. Well, Thanksgiving came and went, and we heard nothing. Hopes dashed again. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving, we get an email saying, “Congratulations! You have passed the prescreen.” I texted my D at school, and her response was, “No.” She had come to terms - twice- with not passing the prescreen, and then she found out she had. It was such a roller coaster. Did not make us feel warm and fuzzy about the process, but it was actually a good introduction to the craziness that ensued (lost applications and appointment times after flying across the country, blizzards, audition panels who never even glance up, etc.). It’s a trip. So, the moral of the story is: Never assume anything. Always call and check. But don’t be a pain…wait until AFTER the school says you should have heard. If they say you’ll hear within 3 weeks, and you haven’t heard after 4 weeks, call.

Good advice! Heard from Texas State today!

Go Bobcats! Congrats!

Very unprofessional to put all emails in the “to” line! I’m surprised at that.
