Pre-Screens- Has anyone heard?

Congrats, that’s awesome! D is still in school out here in the southwest…I will have to wait patiently like a grown up, I guess. :)

D got an email–it’s a no for UMich. D is taking it like a champ. I must say, I think it’s better to get the no now rather than later. I’m a fan of the pre-screens.

My D also got a yes via email! Excited!!

Congrats to the yes’s I was about to post…I heard at BW today the MI prescreens are being sent…but you guys already know LOL

Congrats to all the yeses! We were at Elon all day and heard they started coming in. My D hasn’t gotten a yes or no yet. Hmm…anyone else still waiting?

Congrats to the latest yesses and I’m sorry to hear about the latest no’s. But you’re right, better to get a no at this point rather than later. It’s still okay to be sad about it, though.

As I understand it, if you didn’t submit app and prescreen by 10/15 you won’t hear until 12/23. So if you didn’t hear, it might be because of when you submitted.

Has anyone sent a pre-screen to Otterbein? Has anyone heard?

My D submitted her pre-screen to Otterbein at the end of October, and she heard about 6-7 days after submitting pre-screen that she was invited to audition.

Congrats DoReMiMom! (like your screen name too)

I don’t know if this is too much to ask, if it is I apologize in advance. Could someone tell me which schools require a prescreen? I am helping a young girl who is just beginning this process and her parents are a bit lost on what is needed. I spent the weekend with her helping her choose about 12 schools for MT and now I am afraid that many of them require prescreens that may have already passed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

S submitted to Otterbein in October as well, took a full 2 weeks to hear back.

bisouu, the best thing is to check the 12 schools’ websites to see if they require prescreens. Many schools are doing it now. Off the top of my head: Penn State, Uof Mich, Otterbein, Pace, Ithaca, Shenandoah. I believe that most of the prescreen deadline dates are December/January.

Bisouu - I think there is a thread on it. I remember reading it a few weeks back, search “require prescreens” or just “prescreen”

Thank you!

You could list the 12 schools here, we probably know the answer.

D just got a big Texas y’all come on down (that’s a Yes for us northerners) from Texas State today 5 days after submitting her prescreens.
She is very, very excited and I’m thinking there will be some warm(er) weather to break up the snowy auditions in January!

WTG cellomom’s D!! Hootin and hollarin for ya!

Congrats to cellomom’s D! It was 85 degrees here yesterday, 78 degrees right now. Be ready for anything in January!

Son sent in his first pre-screen last night to Otterbein, and received and e-mail today -YES!
True confession time - My son only got on the MT Major path last winter. I have heard he is talented, and thought so too, but I can’t tell you how elated and relieved I felt when I learned he passed a pre-screen! I don’t know anyone else whose child has pursued MT (until I found you all) so I have had my moments wondering if I was helping my child or was I promoting a fantasy? I know the future outcomes are impossible to know, but phew!!
