I am applying to Stonehill College and it is my number 1 school. They offer education as a major, but if I want to do secondary education I must major in whatever subject I want to teach in (English) and minor in education. It also says that Stonehill offers a 'pre-teacher certification.' Does anyone know what that means?

Each state has different rules for certifying teachers, but it seems to be universal that secondary ed majors have to have a subject area that they certify in. Elementary ed candidates do a concentration.

As for pre-cert, you should check because each state is different. My D in NY has to take certain tests, be fingerprinted and a couple of other requirements.
