Pre-Wildcat Welcome Programs: International Student Orientation

Hey guys,

I recently got accepted to Northwestern ED and I’m really looking forward to going there. I was looking around the Northwestern website, and according to the Pre-Wildcat Welcome Programs page, it says that I have to attend a mandatory international student orientation because I am an international student. However I am really interested in some of the other Pre-Wildcat Welcome programs that are being offered. Do any of you guys know whether it is possible for me to attend another program besides the International Student Orientation?

Thanks!

I am certain no one will stop you from attending other programs!

If the dates don’t conflict I don’t think they’re going to stop you from signing up. If they do you can probably email someone about it and find out what your options are. The dates for all the events aren’t posted yet so no one can really answer your question now. Since the international orientation is mandatory it probably has some important information you need, so if it conflicts with the other activity you want to do you’ll need to talk with someone who is running the orientation programs to find out.

No you cannot attend other programs normally. You have to be there for ISO, but well ISO is a joke

“We very highly recommend you attend international student orientation, as we provide a lot of immigration information for students to maintain their visa status. However, it is ultimately your decision, as your visa status is your responsibility.”

Still tempted to do PWild…

Bull - everything they tell you during ISO you can find the answers/info yourself. I skipped half of ISO and all my friends said I made the right decision lol

ISO is super useless except for the first day when you get your legal papers signed, so sadly you can’t miss it because of that.

^I think that was the last day, not the first day
