Hey... I am self-studying Precalc and will be giving my placement exam next week so as to skip precalc. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me if the following topics were taught and if they come on the exam:

1) Polar Coordinates
2) Parametric equations
3) Sequences, series, Induction, Binomial theorm
4) Systems of Equations and Inequalities
5) Probability ( permutations, combinations,etc )
6) Product-to-sum, sum-to-product and Half Angle Formulas in trig.
7) Conics ( Parabolas, Hyperbolas, Ellipses )
8) Polar Equations of Conics
9) Vectors ( Dot product, Cross Product, etc )

I took Pre-Calc last year, and we studied them all in depth except for permutations. Probability is more of a statistics topic. For pre-Calc you just need to know some basic approaches such as the Punnett Square you learned about in Biology.

I don't know how good you are at math, but having a comptent understanding of a year's worth of PC material seems like a pretty tall task.

Product-to-sum, sum-to-product and Half Angle Formulas were the bane of my existence last year. We had a test which was 50% proofs (either those, or pythagoran, or others), that I got a 78 on.
