PreCalculus at a Community College?

I'm a currently a junior in high school that is suffering from a dilemma right now. I'm currently enrolled in Algebra II, next year I have the chance to take PreCalculus. I am thinking about taking it at a Community College nearby during summer to get it out of the way, seeing as how I am going to take 5 AP classes and a required religion class next year. I am not strong in mathematics and I haven't meshed well with the mathematical staff here at my school. I am the third best student in my math class but I suffer from a C - my math teacher is the hardest math teacher in the school and only a handful of students in all of his classes get an A.

I just want to get the mathematical requirement out of the way for Senior year so I can focus on my AP classes. Are there any drawbacks to taking a PreCalculus class during summer at a community college? Any reason that I should not do this? Will this hurt my college application?

I personally wouldn't do it, but it's up to you. The only reason I would take PreCalc over the summer is so I could take AP Calculus my senior year. It probably won't hurt your application if you get a good grade, but remember that you might not do any better there than you do in your high school. Consider this carefully before you enroll.

It's always a good idea to get hard classes out of the way in summer if you can.
