Essays are strong (about how I found my voice and my community through freerunning)

Letters of rec should be really, really good–like 10/10 for one and 9/10 for the other. One from 10th grade history teacher and current XC coach and one from my 11th grade environmental science teacher for whom I currently TA

Thanks in advance!!

Assuming you’re applying to the general schools, and not any especially hard major, your academics aren’t outstanding. Solid ACT Scores, GPA looks good, but schools may not like the lack of APs, even if your honors classes were difficult (Can look like WGPA inflation.) Freerunning looks like a very strong EC, especially with the word “Olympic” in there. Make sure not to rely to heavily on it, though… try and have some essays about something academic, since you’re applying to such rigorous schools. Also, I’m not sure how many of those schools will let you superscore… the single-sitting ACT may bring you down. Good luck regardless, I think you’ve got good shot at some of those.

@waswaswasnt thanks!! Oh and just to be clear: my school doesn’t offer any AP classes and my school reports UW GPA so no one will see the 4.79. I just took those two tests so I could (possibly) get college credit. Only two of my reach schools don’t superscore/ take highest subs

And for future responses: can you guys just do accepted/deferred/rejected next to the college? And maybe a sentence about why at the bottom? Thanks!

*forgot to mention that I plan to major in English w/ a focus in creative writing or environmental science and sustainability.

-Brown (ED/visitedX2) - accept (or defer)
-Harvard (Legacy/visitedX2) - defer/reject
-Pomona (visited) - accept
-Northwestern - accept
-Williams (visited) - accept or defer
-WashU (applying for scholarship) - defer
-Tufts (visited) - accept
-Northeastern (EA/visited) - accept
-UC Berkeley (in-state) - accept
-Cal Poly SLO (in-state) - accept

I’m also applying to schools with 34 ACT single sitting, I don’t think it will hurt us, unlike the previous poster said.

@junior2017 thanks!! Good luck to you!

Bump!! Update: Pomona on-campus interview went really well!

Bumping again! I ended up not applying to Northwestern and Williams.
