AP Scholar with Honor
National Merit Commended Scholar
3 Cumulative Highest Honors (a school award)
3 Scholar-Athlete Awards (again, a school award)

Essays- 9/10 for CommonApp. I feel really confident about it, and both my english teacher and my guidance counselor praised it, so here’s hoping. All the supplements hover around 7-8/10. I waited to long to start them, and they’re rushed, unfortunately.

Recommendations-
History teacher: 8/10. It was a great letter, if a little bland.
Physics teacher/xc and track coach: 10/10. This guy loves me, and he’s known me for 4 years now (as well as had me 2 semesters in a row last year) havent actually read the letter, tho
Counselor: ??? honestly no clue. I’ve gotten a decent amount of face time with her, and I think she likes me, but I doubt it will be anything special
Interviews: MIT went well, Princeton wasn’t great but the guy straight up told me he was going to write a great report about me, and UPenn was a little awkward but i got my interviewer to laugh and we got on a little tangent about space and star parties, so ???

Other:
Aid: none
State- PA
Gender- female
Ethnicity- white
School: medium sized public, VERY competitive
Hooks- for UPENN, my mom went there undergrad

I submitted art supplements to all these schools and am trying to talk to coaches on the ski and track teams.

My schools (so you dont have to scroll up) are
Harvard
MIT
Princeton
CMU
Williams
UPenn
Haverford.

I’ve already been admitted to Penn State Main Campus and the University of Pittsburgh (honors college)

Thanks for reading, please comment! If you give me a link, i’ll chance you back

Your ACT & GPA are great and will get you through the door at all of these colleges. Your ECs, however, will be your weak point – they’re pretty scattered and you don’t have that many. Not having practical STEM experience will hurt at schools like MIT. Ultimately, if I’m assuming you’re applying as a STEM major (from the MIT app), I’d say:
Harvard: Reject
MIT: Reject
Princeton: Reject
CMU: Accept
Williams: Waitlist
UPenn: Waitlist
Haverford: Accept

Best of luck! Chance me back? http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1966406-chance-me-upenn-ed-yale-brown-princeton-etc-will-chance-back.html#latest

@writergirl0316 hey thanks for replying!
I’m going in to astrophysics so hahah yeah my EC’s aren’t amazing. unfortunately i didn’t really get in to physics until last year so i’m a bit behind schedule here ^^; i got to talk a lot about my (however limited) experience in the interviews, though, so who knows! fingers crossed

i chanced you back, good luck to you too!

You will get in to more than one more school. I would be shocked to see you run the table, though.

Best of luck.

Harvard - Reject
MIT - Reject
Princeton - Reject
CMU - Accept, WL if SCS
Williams - WL/Reject
UPenn - WL/Reject
Haverford - Accept

You have strong grades and ECs, but there are no national awards or STEM ECs. If your essays are good, though, you have a decent shot at some of your reach schools.

“Hooks- for UPENN, my mom went there undergrad”

Last I knew, Penn only considers legacy status for early round applicants.

I would say you would definitely get into CMU and Haverford. Maybe one acceptance between Williams and Penn. Then perhaps a waitlist from MIT as you are female in Engineering and Rejects for both Harvard and Princeton.
