I just received a letter from the hotel school offerring me a preferred transfer acceptance for spring 2008 if I don't get in on the waitlist. what exactly is a preferred transfer? does that mean I have to submit a spring 2008 transfer application and they will prefer me over other applicants?

anyone know? i guess not many people got preferred transfers.

I have absolutely no clue. Maybe it's like a GT but for Hotel people...who knows. I'd give em a call if I were u. GL!

My friend got that..its like a spring admission....
as long as you dont screw up your first semester grade in college, you're in.
The hotel school has a really small class and sorta a quotas for the fall class. Since they want to accept you and you either 1. applied late or 2. are too many applicants in the class this year, they jsut sorta automatically defer you to next semester. whatever the reason, you're in. and very lucky because cornell is expensive. now you can go to ur state school, have fun, relax, party and then get burned at conrell

does this sort of mean I'm high up on the waitlist? or does the hotel school just give this option to a large pool of the people on waitlist?

Nahh, I think the hotel school gives this to everyone on hte waitlist becuase only like 20 ppl are waitlisted or something like that. Who knows...

I wouldn't bet on teh waitlist though, only about 1 or 2 people get off it every year.

yea i got that too. im gonna call the school to see what it is.

have u gotten a response yet? everytime I call they transfer me to an admissions officer who never picks up. :(
