Hey, I got a Preferred Transfer from Cornell...apparently this means that I can join the University during the Spring 2007 semester.
It says I have to go to an accredited University and maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.
Also, Im supposed to get a Job that relates to Hospitality (I applied to the Hotel School)
Did anyone else get this?? How is this diff from a GT?

I have a friend who got this. The requirements are identical to the GT requirements for her college. It sounds like it's a notch below GT but your chances of acceptance are still next to perfect I would say if you meet the requirements.

hmm, i thought it was above a GT because i get to go during the spring semester of Freshman year. I know such Universities as UC Berkeley do this and call the people who get them "spring admits"

Do I have to apply for housing now, or later for the preferred transfer?

Oh i didn't notice that you're a spring admit. I'd argue that you can't necessarily call your situation better than a GT's because a GT is guaranteed admission if he or she meets the requirements, whereas you are not.

i got the preferred transfer to hotel school spring of 2007 too. you are guaranteed a spot if you meet the requirements. i called the admissions office to check on that when i was confused.

Cool, anyone know how hard it is to maintain a B average?

Which of the thousands of US universities are you attending? Then we may be able to give you some more insight ;)

haha, UCSD
