<p>they offered to fly people whom they recieved something from the financial aid office from, im not sure exaclty the details of this.</p>
<p>I believe it is minorities and people with demonstrated financial need.</p>
<p>My year, they also flew out anyone who called to plead need or money issues. (However, they didn't advertise that, and as money is no doubt tighter now than it was in the heady days of early 2000, that might not be the policy any longer.)</p>
<p>I sent an email and got the reply that Caltech does not have the funds to cover airline fare. :( so sad</p>
