Another admission cycle is winding down and it has been a heck of a ride! Although we won’t have a finalized picture of the Class of 2016 until Orientation Week in August, here are some preliminary facts and figures about this year’s impressive admitted class:</p>
<p>Vassar received 7,908 applications (the second-largest pool in school history) and had an admit rate of 22.5%.
On average, admitted students had an A/A- unweighted GPA.
The middle 50% of admitted students had a combined SAT Critical Reasoning and Math score of 1360 – 1500 and an ACT composite of 30 – 33.
Domestically, admitted students represent 48 states, DC, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands.
The top fifteen states for admitted students are: New York, California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Illinois, Florida, Maryland, Texas, Oregon, Virginia, Ohio, Colorado, and Washington.
13.8% of admitted students hold foreign citizenship and represent 53 countries.
43.9% of those admitted self-identify as students of color.
