What's premed like at UofC? Does the workload and grade deflation hurt people when it comes time to apply to med school? Do very many students pursue this option?

Yes, there are a lot of pre-meds here, but it's very hard. There are programs for early application to Pritzker if you're a Chicago student. I can't say because I only know a few personally, and people don't regularly talk about their grades and such.

You might want to search www.uchicago.edu for "pre-med." You'll get lots of useful information.

bump..........

I don't think you're going to get anyone who knows anything more than I do, Weasel...unfortunately. Here's some links I found, I don't know how useful they are.

Pre-Med Students Association

An article in the Maroon about being a pre-med.

Hope that helps.

Some useful links.

I believe about 75% of U of C students with a 3.3 GPA who apply to medical school are accepted.

thanks for the great links
