premed at gtown vs pre-med at GWU

i got accepted into gtown and GWU. i have visited both places and i really like GWU. Both schs have other strong departments but i plan to be a premed student and i'm not sure which sch has the better biology/science department. Which sch do you think is better for pre-med? i really need help to decide.
thanks in advance

I don’t know anything about GWU, but when I visited Gtown a couple years ago (I want to be a pre-med too), I was kind of disappointed by the emphasis put on the political majors and SFS. I didn’t apply to Gtown for that reason. But that’s just my opinion, I’m sure others will disagree.

^gwu has a pretty huge emphasis on political science / IR as well, they’re just not quite as good at gtown. I would go to gtown unless you have strong reasons to choose GWU.

And I’m guessing the previous poster said pick Gtown only cause of the name factor. Go for what school is cheaper if you aren’t extremely wealthy and can afford college easily. Also you said GWU is a school which you liked better meaning you would probably do better there since you like the environment more. Undergrad in Pre-med basically means nothing, it’s all about the GPA and MCAT which will be optimized in an environment you like the most.

Basically go where its cheaper and where you like better.

^ it is hardly because of the name, but mostly because gtown is likely better with FA (they are need blind unlike gwu), more renowned departments and better at more things, more qualified student body as well.

A very large proportion of college students who start out pre-med don’t end up wanting to be pre-med so, as a prospective student, it is important to consider a wider array of aspects about a college.

come on you guys…i’d really like some more input on this!

If cost is similar or if money is not a factor, Georgetown is a much stronger and prestigious school.

Will both cost about the same for you? Or, will one require big loans? You don’t want loans for undergrad if you’ll need to borrow for med school.
