PreMed in Michigan

Hi, i live in Michigan and am trying to find a good premed school. I know U of M is the best, but what about Wayne state University, Michigan State University? Also, i am looking at University of Detroit. Can you please rank these schools from the best premed school to the worse in terms of the number of applications accepted from Medical Schools or the rigor of the program? If any other good premed schools in Michigan come up, please tell me them. Thank You!

The most important things to consider are your potential grade point average and the MCAT score you will be able to achieve. Your GPA is the first hurdle. Even though UM is the most prestigious of the universities you mention, it will also be harder to get great grades there, especially in core classes for medical school such as organic chemistry. You should go to a college you like, where you feel comfortable, where you can succeed among your classmates. If you are a brilliant student with amazing grades, UM would be fine, but if not, go somewhere smaller.

I don't think you will be able to find the data for the number of applications from each undergrad program getting accepted to medical school. The overall national average is around 50 percent.
