premed/predent at NYU

Hi, I was wondering how you guys perceive the Premed/Predent program. Do you think that the professors are good, and help adequately prepare you for the DAT/MCAT? Actually any advice would be good right now because I'm really confused about what I should do as far as applying to colleges is concerned.

Also, is it true they have a 7 year DMD program for students at NYU only?

I'm still a freshman, so unfortunately I have little information to share. Both my chemistry and biology professors are very good. They actively try to help you to understand the material, and my chemistry professor specifically gears his lectures towards MCAT preparation.

This is not to say that those not looking to go to med school are negatively affected, I am merely saying that on top of very informational lectures on the subject, we have more than adequate preparation for the MCAT. (At least, this is what he's told us) Clearly, I haven't taken the MCATs yet (shiver) so what I've said is all relative.

NYU has a 7 year BA/DDS program in CAS. (DDS=DMD)

Good luck.

it's all the same, depends on the person. furthermore there is no premed program at nyu, it's just a bunch of classes you are recommended to take in order to get into medical school. professors at top notch universities will almost always be intelligent and 'helpful', so that's a given to answer most of your question. in my opinion it depends on you, i have yet to go to more than 2 chem lectures and any of my other lectures and im flyin by with an A (though i am not discouraging you from attending class, because recitations are a must to attend lol, or else you may die), you can do well anywhere as long as you have determination and good studying skills (everything any professor says is usually found in a book, the book you pay a million dollars for in the beginning of the year, so use it).
