I was admitted to the L.S. Program at NYU for Sociology, but I also want to pursue pre-med.
Has anyone done Pre-Med at NYU?
How is it?
Is there a high Med school acceptance rate of NYU Pre-Med students?
How are the professors, class sizes, students in the pre-med program?
what are average mcat scores of NYU pre-med students?

*and before anyone refers me to the premed website or the pre-med office, I have already visited the website and talked to a counselor but neither gave me the answers I was looking for.

I am looking for student opinions on the NYU pre-med program.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

No offense but do a forum search; this exact same question has been asked over a hundred times. This is a good thread to start with: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/717704-my-1st-year-pre-med-nyu-detailed-information-prospective-pre-meds.html

There is no such thing as a pre-med program. If you’re a non-science major, you sign up for the basic science classes required (Gen Physics, gen chem, principles of bio, organic chem, etc - info you’ve read on the site).

I have asked CAS Advising for stats on medical and graduate school acceptances for NYU Undergrads in the past; I was told no such statistics are available for students. I’ve never heard of NYU releasing statistics about the average MCAT score, GPA, or Med acceptance rate of its students. I doubt they ever will.

Regardless, how other people are doing shouldn’t affect you if your own GPA/MCAT are good. Get involved in volunteering and research too.
