Premed ques:Should I place out of GC to OC

Hi...! this is a question for any current UNC premed who may have placed out of college General Chem or taken AP Chem in college,...:
I am a new student entering fall 06. I took AP Chem this year and AM SURE I will get a 5. Also, my high school course was very very challenging (with lab) and very competitive...Still I managed to maintain a 97%. (Even those with a C are sure thery're going to get a 5)... How is UNC's GC? Do all premeds have to take it in college<>> Should I place into Orgo during first semester,...? I welcome comments and suggestions...!

there is no premed at carolina

ummm, there's premed at Carolina. I was premed til I switched to Psychology and I have a bunch of friends who are still premed.

If you can get out of Gen Chem then do it. Its pretty tough because its a lot of information in a short period of time but its also made to be tough to weed out pre med people and it works. So if you can get placed out of intro to chem and intro to biology do it because all in all I'd say those courses are pretty dumb. thats just what a former premed guy recommends. I'm not sure if there are any current premed students who post here who can give you any better suggestions, but I don't think you'll miss out by not taking the general courses.

I intend to major in Bio and Public Health, while completing my premed requirements. So technically even though I am majoring in Bio and PH, I am still premed. Right? Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for you suggestions you guys!

Premed is a program that has its own requirments. So if you choose to double major in Bio and public health, remember that with premed you are also minoring in chemistry. There are premed advisors that you can meet with to make sure your staying on track, but if your majoriing in biology then you'll basically be on track for premed
