Premed recommendations

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if anyone has any information regarding premed programs in Texas. Today I learned of the EMSAP and the Partnership for Primary Care Program. I am interested in participating in a program designed to help the student through the process. I am forced to stay in Texas so that is why I have made this topic so narrow. Thank you for any information.

My recommendation is don't do premed. Do chemistry or something so that you can still go to med school if you want to but if you change your mind you've still got a lot of options.

It's a moot point. Most colleges do not offer a "pre-med" major. Pre-med is just a series of classes that fulfill med school requirements.

Any good school in Texas will do.

Another program along the lines of EMSAP is the Rice/Baylor program, but admissions are extremely competitive.

Thank you all so much for your help. I will look into the program, Dorian, thanks.

there is a baylor university and bcm program too. if you apply to this one though, then you cant apply to rice/baylor.
